“Tshering Yangzom is currently serving as the Dy. Dean for Nursing & Midwifery at the Faculty of Nursing and Public Health, KGUMSB. Tshering obtained her Bachelor’s degree in nursing honors from Raj Kumari Amrit Kaur College of nursing, India, and Masters in Nursing Science from La Trobe University in Australia.
As a nursing faculty, Tshering has been involved in teaching nursing related subjects and nursing education since 2005. She has also served as the Program leader for various categories of training programs at the faculty. Some of her contributions to the development of the nursing education system includes evaluating and enhancing competency-based curriculum, standardizing rubrics, assessment forms, and checklists, and integrating evidence-based practices in the delivery of nursing services.
Currently, Tshering is a member of the Senior Management Team, Chairperson of Faculty Examination Committee, Member of University Examination Board and University Academic Board. She presented a paper and participated as a Judge in the International Conference on Medical & Health Sciences organized by MECRIT, KGUMSB, in the recent past. Tshering also undertakes independent and collaborative research and mentors both national and international students with their research undertakings.
In 2019, Tshering was awarded as the best employee of the year. Tshering is also the recipient of the Royal Civil Service Bronze medal award for the successful completion of 10-20 years’ service to the nation, and Druk Thuksey award for her contribution in COVID 19 control activities.”
