Biography
Tshering Dukpa is a Lecturer and Deputy Dean, Department of Public Health and Allied Health Sciences. Tshering received his undergraduate degree in nursing from Khonkaen University, Thailand and Master of Science in International Health from the Heidelberg University, Germany. He has been a faculty member since 2006 and had taught basic sciences and nursing subjects during his earlier days here in the faculty. Since 2014, moved by his passion and the need of the faculty, he has been concentrating more on public health program and have been teaching epidemiology, primary health care and project planning and management. He has been instrumental in revising the curriculum and running the bachelor degree in public health program. Besides his teaching portfolio, Tshering has actively contributed in developing the Condition of Service document for the newly established university and also initiated the introduction of online continuing medical education program for the the faculty. His research interest is varied but focuses in the health system and climate change . He has just completed collaborative research project,assessing the organizational research capacity for community health in Bhutan, using Community Research Assessment Tool- International (CREAT-I)with researchers from Yale School of Public Health and is also currently, an investigator in the national survey, examining the prevalence and intensity of soil transmitted helminthiasis among school children in Bhutan.
